Sugar-free seasoning : Mirin Syrup Recipe

A recipe for the sugar-free seasoning “Mirin syrup.”

Hon mirin can be used from weaning onwards as the alcohol evaporates when boiled down.
By boiling it down, it becomes thick and sweet with a mellow flavor.
Once you’ve made the basic mirin syrup, you can enjoy a variety of variations on it, such as jellies and puddings.

Material (amount to be about 100 ml)
Hon Mirin 200ml
* Please use “Hon Mirin” instead of Mirin-style seasoning.

1) Put Hon Mirin in a pan and heat it over high heat to bring it to a boil to remove alcohol.
2) Heat over high heat, being careful not to blow over. Boil until it becomes a little thick and half the amount.
3) Complete when it becomes light brown and thickens.

* Store in the refrigerator for about 1 week.
If it becomes white and hard during storage, it will return to its original state when warmed.

It can be used as a substitute for honey, sugar and maple syrup in various dishes and sweets.
“Mirin toast”, which uses mirin syrup instead of honey, has a cleaner sweetness than honey.
